Nature is my muse. Being immersed in nature is a big part of who I am. Nature brings me comfort, fuels my creativity and stimulates my thinking. Nature is powerful, comical, and complex. When you sit and deconstruct how all these varying elements come together, its not only a relaxing moment, but one that will transport you.
The dark cloud cover and fog in my painting are inspired by the storms that kept me company every time I worked on this landscape. On my breaks from painting, I would watch the summer downpour from my balcony. After the rainfall, a fog hovered between the trees as the rain evaporated. I translated the sights and sounds from my environment to help me create a mood for my canvas.
